Frequently Asked Questions

General questions

  • Q: who started OrgaSizer, who's idea was it?
A: Stefan Moelants conceived the original idea and got Steve Lievens involved in the project early on. Both of them founded the company together a little while later.

  • Q: how did you come up with the name OrgaSizer?
A: since OrgaSizer is an organizer for sizes (and preferences), we combined these 2 words "organizer" and "sizes" into OrgaSizer. After we found out that the .com domain name was still available, we knew we had found the company name we were looking for!

  • Q: is OrgaSizer backed by Venture Capital funding?
A: no, for the time being OrgaSizer is funded by the founders themselves.

  • Q: will OrgaSizer continue to grow and be expanded?
A: yes, as well as continuously expanding the sizes & preferences categories (suggestions are always welcome), we have a zillion ideas about taking OrgaSizer ever further.

  • Q: is OrgaSizer based in Silicon Valley?
A: no, but this might be a good idea :)

  • Q: is OrgaSizer active in the social networking community?
A: yes, you can already find OrgaSizer on Twitter and we have plans to expand to Facebook, Netlog and MySpace in the near future.

Using OrgaSizer

  • Q: some categories seem quite daunting to complete...
A: typically there are only between 1 and 3 required fields, the rest is optional and can be used to further specify an item or left blank (this prevents that attribute from showing up when a friend consults your profile).

  • Q: why should I document things I know by heart?
A: it's cool to share your profile with friends and show them what interests you. It's also useful to catalog data about a number of items that you need to remember throughout your life on a regular basis, like for example contact lenses, specifics about snowboard gear etc...

  • Q: where do I find certain size information to enter it on OrgaSizer?
A: difficult to say... depends on the situation. Orgasizer provides as many tools as possible to make sure you know what size to enter (lingerie comparisons, how to's, etc...). If you're entering the size for a pants for example, the best way usually is to check the size of a pants you already own. On the other hand, on certain page we give you the necessary information to measure your size yourself (for example: lingerie, helmets...).

  • Q: I'm confused, in the Sizes & Preferences section, for example in the snowboard category, should I enter what I own or what I want?
A: The Sizes & Preferences section is there to detail who you are, what your sizes and preferences are. Use the Wishlist section to name the things you want (for Christmas for example). An example: in the Sizes & Preferences section you'll detail the types of snowboard that fit you best and in the Wishlist section you'll tell people what snowboard it is you actually want this year for Christmas.

  • Q: how do I change my password?
A: in the header part of each page (top right), next to the [logout] button you'll find the [change password] button.

  • Q: is user information private?
A: passwords are stored completely hashed and all other user information is never disclosed directly to third parties. User information is used anonymously by the system for advertising and matching purposes only.

  • Q: can I share my sizes & preferences with several people without them knowing this from each other? For example, can I share my lingerie sizes with my husband and with a lover I keep on the side?
A: of course, OrgaSizer shares your information with the people you choose in the manner you choose. Your shared contacts don't know by default who else you're sharing your information with. OrgaSizer's business is gathering and sharing people's information, we don't interfere with how you use that information, that's entirely up to you!
